As of July 29, 2025 - All Residents Meeting, Tuesday, August 5th at 7:00 p. m.

~~~ All Residents Are Invited ~~~
BVWNA is hosting an All Residents Meeting scheduled for
Tuesday, August 5th at 7:00 p.m
at the Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal Church
9065 John T White Road.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the zoning change request for the development of property at John T White and Eastchase/Randol Mill (ZC-25-057).
The property is currently zoned for neighborhood retail. The developer has submitted a zoning change request (ZC-25-057) to change the zoning from Neighborhood Retail to Mixed-Use.  Once the zoning is changed, it is highly unlikely it could change again, and it cannot revert to Neighborhood Retail. The mixed-use zoning would provide the current owner or future owner with broader latitude in how to use the property without neighborhood input.
The developer has spoken with some of the board members and residents about the vision for the property. As of this email, BVWNA has not received any documents, assessments, plans, or renderings from the developer. An invitation has been extended to our City Council Member to attend, and to the developer to present Al Hedayah's plans for the property. This is an opportunity for residents to ask questions, gather information, and discuss how this development will impact our neighborhood and the surrounding community..
After the meeting, online voting will be open for BVWNA members to determine BVWNA’s position before the City Zoning Commission hearing. If you want to vote with BVWNA, you can become a member at https://bvwna.org/join-us.
The Zoning Commission will hold its hearing on Wednesday, August 13th, at approximately 1:00 p.m. It would be great if residents from our neighborhood could show up at the hearing. [Correction: previous version stated the hearing would be held on Tuesday, August 13th.]
Information about the hearing, how you can attend, and how to submit comments will be posted here as soon as it's received from the Zoning Commission.
As of July 17, 2025
As of this date, we have not received any plans or renderings from the developer on this property.
As of June 11, 2025
You can watch today's zoning hearing at:
The hearing for ZC-25-057 begins at 1:06:45
The FW Zoning Commission granted a continuance until the August zoning hearing. BVWNA will be working with the developer to schedule a neighborhood meeting so that we can hear more information about the proposed development.
As of June 9, 2025
BVWNA has requested a continuance for the hearing on ZC-25-057. If the continuance is granted, BVWNA will schedule a neighborhood meeting with the developer to get more information on the plans for this property. See the link to the notification below to attend or view a live broadcast of the zoning hearing. Please note there is a chance ZC-25-057 may be removed from the agenda at the developer's request.
As of June 1, 2025
BVWNA received the city notification that a request to change the zoning for the property at 8661 John T. White has been placed on the Zoning Commission's calendar for Wednesday, June 11, 2025. The zoning change request is ZC-25-057. We have reached out to our City Council Member and to the property developer for additional information and to request a meeting with residents to discuss the developer's intentions. Click on the box below to see the official notification and for information about to attend, to speak at, or to view online the Zoning Commission meeting.
As of March 15, 2025
Al Hedayah is the property owner for the two parcels of land at John T. White and Randol Mill. We spoke with the developer today and they are still exploring options. Both parcels of land are zoned for commercial use. The initial plans are for the one parcel of land at the corner (at 8661); the second parcel of land (at 8689) will be developed at a later time. The developer is exploring a mixed-use development for small business with some residential space and additional parking for Al Hedayah. The developer is talking with the City what might be possible, and look forward to sharing ideas with the neighborhood. Keep an eye on this site for updates.
As of February 7, 2025
The new owner has cleared a bit of debris and brush. This is to deter homeless people from building their camps on the property and provide access to utilities and communications companies. They are aware they must identify and maintain old-growth trees. As of today, the owner has not done any grading, or provided plans for the site to the city.
Your BVWNA is in contact with our City Council Representative Gyna Bivens regarding this property, and updates will be posted here and on our private Facebook Group page.
