As of November 13, 2025, the City of Fort Worth access to the legacy CodeRED alerting software has been suspended due to potential security vulnerabilities following a cyberattack on the system's vendor. The vendor, Crisis24, suspended access to the legacy CodeRED alerting software as a precautionary measure while the extent of the breach is determined and corrective actions are taken.
The CodeRED system is used to deliver mass critical emergency alerts such as severe weather warnings, evacuation notices, and public safety information.
The City of Fort Worth still has the capabilities of sending wireless alerts and encourages residents to:
Enable Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on mobile devices to receive critical national and local alerts.
Download and use weather alert apps from trusted sources such as the National Weather Service.
