Mowing along John T White Road

In April 2023, the City resumed mowing the easement (or right-of-way) property along John T White during the growing season from April to September. Mowing is done every 3 to 4 weeks from the Iglesias de Dios church property to the Bentley Village-Waterchase brick monument sign.

The City mows the easement area within 10' of the street. The brick wall or fence is often further than 10' from the street. The City does not mow all the way to the brick wall fence. The easement is the homeowners' property on the exterior of the brick wall to the John T. White curb. The easement area remains the homeowner's responsibility:

  • to trim trees & bushes (especially if it blocks the line of sight for traffic)

  • to clear brush or trash

  • to mow when needed.

The City is responsible for mowing the medians except for the section of median adopted by BVWNA.

The City uses two different crews for mowing the easements and the medians. The median and easements may not be mowed on the same day, or even in the same week. BVWNA retains mowing & landscape cleanup service for the John T White entrance median (Sylvan to Newport) and both monument signs for a welcoming appearance. BVWNA has signed an adopt-a-median agreement with the City for the John T White median between Sylvan and Newport.
