UPDATE: DR Horton Clearcutting

Thank you for everyone who wrote or called in to advocate for a fine for DR Horton after the clearcutting of trees on Randol Mill (see earlier post for details). The decision has come down from the city that DR Horton will NOT pay any fine for this action. However, they are now required to replant trees at 5 trees for every one that was cut down (in the same area), and the city will inspect the planting, and re-inspect at the two-year mark.

Please be watchful for any further erosion of our tree canopy, which helps protect our homes and roads from flooding and erosion.
